Graduate Student Wellness Resources and Organizations

The Graduate School has an embedded counselor who is available to meet with graduate students at the Graduate House.  Ms. Caelyn Ditz, LCSW-S, schedules appointments with students via the University Counseling Center (UCC).  Visit the Counseling Center website to make an appointment.

Within the United States, there is now a national number for mental health crises. It’s 9-8-8! More information about 9-8-8 can be found here.

Individuals are also able to call 9-1-1 in case of emergency (this number is useful if requiring immediate medical attention).

The Council of Graduate Schools (CGS) offers some financial tips and information to help graduate students during and after their studies through the Grad$ense program.

The Campus CRED app is a way for students to reflect on their lives through daily journals, track long term patters and habits, and connect with other members of the UM community. 

Mental Health First Aid is a course that teaches you how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders.

The training gives you the skills you need to reach out and provide initial help and support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem or experiencing a crisis.

Next, LAMBDA is a student support group for those that are members of the LGBQTIA+ community. The goal is to provide a safe environment for disclosure and to help develop positive coping strategies that can be used to navigate adjustments and challenges.
