McNair Scholars

In honor of Dr. Ronald McNair, the U.S. Department of Education established the Ronald E. McNair Scholars Program. Its purpose is to encourage and support undergraduates (rising Juniors and Seniors) from disadvantaged backgrounds in pursuing a doctoral degree (Ph.D./Ed.D).  The national McNair program page can be found at https://www2.ed.gov/programs/triomcnair/index.html.

The University of Mississippi has operated a McNair program since 1995.  The UM McNair program page can be found at UM McNair.
