Robin Bourgeois, Assistant to the Graduate Dean, provides an overview of health care options for graduate students—touching on eligibility, cost estimates, waivers and an overview of benefits.

UM Division of Student Affairs
Brent Marsh, Assistant Vice Chancellor for the Division of Student Affairs and the Dean of Students, shares information about the Division of Student Affairs—covering a wide range of topics varying from student engagement to graduate student resources such as on-campus counseling, the career center, university police and campus recreation.
Olivia Raine, a career advisor with the Career Center, highlights resources available to current students with the Career Center—touching on developmental services, the handshake platform, employer services and the best ways to stay engaged with the Career Center.
Center for Inclusion and Cross-Cultural Engagement
Dr. EJ Edney, Director for the Center of Inclusion and Cross-Cultural Engagement, shares more information on the staff, programs, key partners and ways you get connected and be engaged—touching on their Are You Ready? Dialogue Series, Pride Camp, cultural excursions and more.
Claire Mischker, the Director of the Graduate Writing Center, shares an overview of the Graduate Writing Center—a free resource that provides one-on-one or group writing consultations, virtual workshops and facilitates Graduate writing groups. The GWC is available to any graduate student—in any discipline and department, and at any stage of study—and offers strategies to help students improve their writing.
Melissa Dennis, Head of Research& Instruction Services at the JD Williams Library, gives a walk-through of the university’s libraries websites and online catalogues. She highlights research guides, private carrel reservations, research consultation and other library resources offered to graduate students.
UM Student Disability Services
Corey Blount, Assistant Director for Student Disability Services, provides a brief overview of the department and the services offered to students at the University of Mississippi—touching on registration processes, accommodations and common disability categories. Student Disability Services is committed to ensuring access, equality and inclusion for all students.
The University Counseling Center (UCC) shares a short overview of their role at the University of Mississippi, groups and outreach programs, services and how to become enrolled with the UCC to receive counseling or help. This service is free to all students currently enrolled.
Valerie Yeakel, an investigator with the Office of Equal Opportunity and Regulatory Compliance, highlights Title IX—a federal law that prohibits discrimination based on sex in educational programs and activities—and policies put into place by the University of Mississippi to uphold these standards.
Violence Intervention and Prevention
Shelli Poole, a Confidential Advocate and Assistant Director in Violence Intervention and Prevention Services, highlights data surrounding sexual and partner violence, resources available to students and policies put in place by the University of Mississippi to ensure the health and safety for all students.
