The University of Mississippi’s Master of Business Administration program was recently ranked as one of the country’s best programs by Bloomberg BusinessWeek. The publication ranked UM as 34 in contention with other American public universities and 68th overall in the US.

To evaluate the programs, Bloomberg BusinessWeek scored the MBA programs in four categories: Compensation, Learning, Networking, and Entrepreneurship. UM MBA was ranked 7 among all US schools in both the Entrepreneurship and Learning categories. In a response to University of Mississippi News, Dean of the School of Business Administration Ken Cyree said, “We are especially proud of being ranked No. 7 in both the areas of entrepreneurship and learning, which is very impressive and indicates the tremendous value of our program and our competitiveness among our peer institutions.”

Jack Henry, a full-time, campus MBA student shares, “As a current MBA candidate, I am proud of the hard work that the professors and administration put into the program. I feel reassured that my decision to pursue this master’s degree will pay off and that the degree will provide a high quality education. My entire cohort celebrated the announcement and we talk about it constantly.”

Coco McDonnell, also a full-time, campus MBA student says, “At my first I told myself I was crazy for wanting to go back to school, and no way did I think I was going to get into the [UM] MBA program. Not only have I thoroughly enjoyed being back in school, but I have loved being a part of this program. Being ranked in the top 50 has made me appreciate this opportunity even more, and has forced me to push myself harder in the classroom”

Heath Rooks is the MBA 2019-2020 Class Vice President for Communications and Public Relations. He stated, “I could not be more excited about the MBA program’s ranking! As a part of the campus program for only one semester, I understand why we are ranked so highly amongst other public universities at #34. With our unique professional development and curriculum offerings such as Speaker’s Edge, Professional Development Days, and the MBA Mentorship Program, I believe our program truly goes beyond the classroom. Through the [UM] MBA, candidates are able to obtain practical business knowledge and professional experience, skills we know will be crucial to our future successes in the workplace. “

Emily Harral is the 2019-2020 Class President of the MBA program. She says, “For me, the [UM] MBA program is incredibly special. It truly fosters an environment for everyone to grow. It has pushed me to grow and develop in ways I never imagined. With these recent rankings, it is wonderful to see that people outside of the program are aware of the impact that the [UM] MBA is having on students’ lives.”

The Bloomberg BusinessWeek data is based on statistics from over 9,000 students, nearly 15,000 alumni, 900 corporate recruiters, and compensation and job placement numbers provided by each institution.
